VOICEMAILVoicemail is simply the equivalent of providing an answering machine for every phone wished. It acts as a personal assistant.
Advantages of its use include:
- When the person is engaged on the phone, incoming calls can be put on to the voicemail avoiding the possibility of losing important calls.
- The person calling is free to decide if they wish to leave a message or ask for someone else.
- If a manager is out and a call comes in to the DDI number, the caller receives a personal greeting and a prompt to leave a message or press "0" for the operator. If a message has been left, the manager can access the DDI number at any time and place and listen to the message left.
- Internal messages can also be left.
The incorporation of DDI and Voicemail, together with suitable setting up and training, would greatly improve your communication network and customer awareness.
DDI (Direct Dial In)With the installation of ISDN (Digital) lines, DDI becomes available.
DDI is a very convenient and simple way of bypassing the operator for making direct contact with an individual or department, faxes and modems, etc. This is done by allocating a unique DDI number to each desired phone
DDI numbers can be used for advertising, situation vacant purposes, etc, and changed when required. As many numbers as needed from 100 to 600 are possible.
Digital lines can provide other facilities such as:
- CLI (Call Line Identification): This allows the person to see the name and number of the caller before the call is answered.
- CTI (Computer Telephony Integration): This allows computers to be linked to the systems enabling appropriate file details to be available on screen before the call is answered.
- Data Transfer Capability: This enables data to share the telephone lines at very high speed (up to 128K).
- Clear and secure lines: High quality speech with no possibility of other people being able to eavesdrop on a telephone conversation.
- Video Conferencing: Provides the facility to hold meetings with visual contact via the telephone line.
- External Transferring: Installation of a 4200 system with digital lines enables calls in the office then transferred to anyone, anywhere in the world, including mobile telephones.
